EMERGENCY FUNDS BEING SENT TO PAKISTAN (October 2005)
Over $2000 has been raised by SDI for aid to victims of the earthquake in Pakistan. The chair of Subud Pakistan will assist in delivering these funds to the members who quickly organized a relief effort. A member’s house is being used as “command central” for collecting and packing kits containing food, bottled water, cooking equipment, blankets and warm clothes to be delivered by truck to villages. Three Subud youth, including two doctors, were immediately involved in rescue efforts last Saturday when buildings collapsed in Islamabad. Funds can be donated via this website http://www.susiladharma.org/https://secure1.uniserve.com/wd-susiladharma/https://secure1.uniserve.com/wd-susiladharma/https://secure1.uniserve.com/wd-susiladharma/giving_now.html

INTERNATIONAL CHILD DEVELOPMENT
PROGRAM, MOZAMBIQUE (October 2005)
From Rukman Hundeide, Project Leader
I visited Mozambique recently and filmed the situation in the orphanage. There is a general improvement of the situation, also because our previous film aroused a lot of interest amongst the Mozambiquan leadership. The orphanage is now included into our file of projects in Mozambique and we will therefore supervise its development carefully. With the funds donated by Susila Dharma, we are employing one person to take particular care of the babies, and my impression is now that the psychosocial care of the infants has improved considerably.
