It was inspiring to see how through football it is possible to address different issues and to bring together children from different backgrounds, religions, ethnic groups and genders.

The Basara Youth Gathering was a great experience for the Borneo Football International Academy.

Most of the youngsters attending the Basara had the opportunity to participate. There were players from Australia, Canada, Colombia, India, Ind
onesia, UK and from the Football Academy amongst others. The cultural interaction of people from different countries was a unique phenomenon of diversity.

Basara participants had a strong interest and enthusiasm to visit and share with BFIA kids and youngsters. They were interested in learning about the different activities that take place during our training sessions and to experience in reality how this works and the benefits that brings to the children of Kalimantan.

For some it was a surprise to learn how simple the lives of the children around Rungan Sari are and all the different challenges that they and their families face in terms of education, health, nutrition, etc.

For those who love sports it was inspiring to see how through football it is possible to address different issues and to bring together children from different backgrounds, religions, ethnic groups and genders. Perhaps the most positive result of all this event was the fact that all of them became good friends.
