The Associação de Solidariedade Subud was first developed in the early 1980s to support the adaptation and integration of families from former Portuguese colonies, many of whom were excluded from mainstream society.

This included creating an educational and community project to meet their needs called Roda Viva.

The project is designed for children and young people aged between 4 months and 25 years and includes a nursery and preschool, after-school activities and a youth programme.

An Integrated Support Centre has also been developed which provides family mediation, psychology resources and social aid.
