At A Glance: Established in 1998, Vida Plena operates Nande Rekoha, a daycare centre for children in a low-income area of Asunción. Vida Plena promotes the International Child Development Program (ICDP) in Paraguay. Approved by the World Health Organisation, ICDP aims to raise awareness in adults about the development needs of the children/teenagers in their care.
Goals: Provide a supportive, nurturing environment via the Nande Rekoha daycare centre in which young people can learn and grow.
Results: Currently, about 100 children between the ages of 3 to 18 from 50 low-income families attend Nande Rekoha. As of 2018, 10 former participants have gone on to pursue a post-secondary education.
